Our 10 Day Trail Blazer Tour includes all the main highlights of this fascinating country; from touring modern bustling cities, to staying with jungle tribes in traditional long-houses. You will explore national parks, spotting exotic wild Orangutans and Proboscis monkeys, as well as visiting Semmenggoh Wildlife Centre to see how they rehabilitate orphaned orangutans. Stay deep in breathtaking Miri National Park and discover the World's biggest caves. Trek through lush jungle and try some real bush-tucker if your nerves hold out! DAY 1: Arrive Kuching

Upon arrival at the airport, meet and transfer to your Hotel for check in.  Rest or free & easy to explore Kuching City. Your holiday to Sarawak has begun!

DAY 2: Bako National Park

One of the best places in Sarawak to see wildlife in a natural setting. Commonly spotted at Bako are the Borneo endemic proboscis monkeys, silvered langurs (monkeys), long-tailed macaques, wild boar, monitor lizards and numerous species of birds. The park has an impressive range of forest types from mangrove to kerangas (heath forest), tropical swamp vegetation, cliff vegetation and beach vegetation. A trail network provides access to different parts of the depending on level of fitness and areas of interest. The park’s spectacular coastline is dotted with small bays, coves and beaches.

Pick up from hotel, 35 minutes drive to Bako village, proceed by boat for approximately 30 minutes to the park headquarters. En route there is a chance to see crocodiles, sea eagles and other shore birds.  Arrive at the park HQ and begin exploring the trails and searching for wildlife.  Return to Kuching mid-afternoon.

DAY 3: Semmenggoh Wildlife Centre

Breakfast in the hotel.  Pick up and depart for Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, located 24 kilometres from the centre of Kuching. This orangutan rehabilitation centre trains orphaned or rescued orangutans how to survive in the wild.  Over 20 orangutans live in forest within the nature reserve and often return to the centre at feeding times. Upon arrival, head to the briefing area.  After a brief talk from the rangers, take a short walk along a trail to the feeding area to watch the orangutans come down from the trees for a free meal. Return back to Kuching to relax for the rest of the afternoon.

DAY 4: Kuching ~ Sarikei ~ Ulu Sarikei

Depart from Kuching by local express boat (fast passenger ferry) to Sarikei.  Sarikei also known as “Food Basket” & “Pineapple Town”, you’ll get to savor local delicacies for lunch at local open air restaurant or coffee shop.  Continue by land to Ulu Sarikei Countryside.  View the hilly scenery on the way with some peppers vineyards, rubber trees, rice paddy even longhouses just by the roadside.

Upon arrival longhouse, a warm welcoming by your host and brief you some longhouse information and culture.  Go for some village walk in the evening, see the friendly local community. Come back in time before sunset. Prepare local meals for dinner such as the Pansuh (chicken meat cooked in bamboo) and taste the Tuak (rice wine) together with your host. After dinner, relaxing and sharing stories & legends with the host in the Ruai (Veranda). Retreat for the night.

DAY 5: Ulu Sarikei ~ Sibu

Nature’s Bounty in a Rural County. Wake up early morning and join the villagers to experience local rubber tapping activity.  Feel the tough job of how extract natural rubber latex come from and also process the rubber sheet.

Back to longhouse for breakfast & rest.  Embark on your journey through the still green and undisturbed forest, with sightings of flora and fauna all the way.  Here, you can understand how the local people say “Rainforest is the biggest supermarket for free”.  View up close and personal with some of plants and herbs that the locals normally use for food or medical purpose and even for making ink as the base for Pua Kumbu.  Enjoy some splashing moment and fun at the simple yet naturally beautiful water steam.  Prepare and enjoy lunch in the middle of the rainforest while the sound of nature and gushing waterfall echoes in the background.  Return back to longhouse and get yourself clean up and refresh before journey to Sibu. 

Upon arrival Sibu, check-in Hotel for a rest. Join us on a tour to the mind boggling Sibu Night Market, which is opened every night except when there is heavy rain.  Be amazed by the food, gadgets, textiles, utensils & all things interesting at this amazing place.

DAY 6: Malaysia's Longest River Stroll: Walk, Talk, Shop, Eat

After Breakfast, take a leisurely stroll on a beautiful esplanade alongside Malaysia’s longest river – The Mighty Rajang River.  See how the people use River Taxis (Express Boats, Speed boats, Sampans etc) of all sorts and forms to move along the river.  Watch how the locals stock up their “Floating Grocery Stores” that serve riverine folks.  Walk on to a beautifully crafted Chinese Temple, climb up the Seven Storey Pagoda and take a panoramic view of SIbu’s waterfront life.

Then cut across the winding streets of Old Sibu Town and soak in the sights and smells of pastries baking in earthen ovens, alley ways small businesses that provides priceless photo opportunities as you head towards the Sibu Heritage Centre. There you get to view Sibu’s history, the local communities’ cultures, lifestyles and traditions. 

After this journey back into time, walk onto to the biggest Central Market in Malaysia – home to more than 1,200 stalls serving up a bedazzling variety of commodities. Seek out the live chicken stalls and find out how they are bundled with newspapers. You will get a real feel of how the people of Sibu live and get to see seasonal fruits, catches that are unique to Sibu.


Journey into Our Seafarer’s Heartland : Sibu – Sg Kut – Dalat – Oya – Mukah. The Melanaus are one of the most celebrated ethnic tribes in Sarawak, known for their gentle, loving nature and seafaring skills. From Sibu, jump onto a speed boat and head towards Dalat Town. This boat journey will bring you through the meandering river, passing Malay villages, shipyards, Iban longhouses and Melanau villages.  Mid-way through your journey, jump off the boat for a stop at the Sungai (River) Kut Melanau Village and take a glimpse into the peaceful, undemanding and amazingly serene village life. Then back into the boat which will snake its way between a Rainforest & Mangrove swamp before arriving in Dalat Town. Go visit the iconic Church by the River & The Jerunei Gardens to find out what’s so fascinating about these two icons of Dalat.  Continue your journey to Lamin Dana. This Authentic Melanau Village, which houses the Melanau Cultural Centre.  Spend the night at this cultural heritage and let your host spin you yarns from days of old.

DAY 7: Lamin Dana Melanau Cultural & Heritage Tour ~ Miri

After breakfast, take a leisure boat cruise along the dark mysterious brackish waters of Tellian River & Misan River.  Visit the local sago processing centre, a cottage industry that produces Sago Pearl the traditional way.  A local delicacies being the most prolific.

Proceed to the Mukah market where you experience locals trading and carrying on with daily activities. Go “Bizarre Food” and sample Siet (Sago Worm) and Umai (Fresh Raw Fish). This will earn you bragging rights when you go home with the prized photos of you savouring these two famous dishes.

Return back to Lamin Dana for rest.  After Lunch, say farewell to Lamin Dana, proceed to Mukah Airport for departure to Miri.  Upon arrival, transfer to Hotel for check-in.  Free at your own or exploring Miri City.

DAY 8: Miri ~ Mulu National Park

Breakfast at the hotel.  Transfer to Miri Airport for departure to Mulu.  The UNESCO World Heritage.  Upon arrival, transfer to Mulu Marriot Resort for check in.

Afternoon, transfer to Mulu National Park HQ for registration and begin a scenic 3 km plankwalk through primary rainforest to the entrance of Deer Cave.  Deer Cave is the world’s largest cave passage. Its scale its awesome and you are in no doubt how huge it is when you arrive at the cave entrance. The entrance of the cave is 150 m wide and 120 m high. Nowhere in this massive cave is the roof less than 90 m high. The cave has a moon-like landscape and from one vantage point, a perfect profile of President Lincoln can be observed.

Next to Deer Cave is Langs Cave. The stalactites and stalagmites inside this cave are representative of the very best limestone formations in the park. After viewing the two caves, proceed to the Bat Observatory outside Deer Cave. Most evenings at sundown, a spectacular exodus of about 2 million of bats can be observed as they leave the cave in search of food. Then trek back to the park HQ by torchlight and return to Resort.

DAY 9: Penan Settlement / Wind & Clearwater Caves

After breakfast transfers by longboat proceed to Batu Bungan - Penan Settlement, to observe the tribe lifestyle and to select handicrafts on display for sale at Penan Settlement.

Continue journey by longboat upriver to Wind Cave with its impressive ‘King’s Chamber’. Here, stalactites and stalagmites with delicate lace-like patterns are found.

A short walk along a plankwalk next to the limestone cliff followed by a climb up approximately 250 concrete steps and you arrive at the entrance to Clearwater Cave. Like most caves in Mulu, Clearwater Cave provides a habitat for unique species of plants. One of these, the one-leafed plant can only be found at Mulu. Photo-sensitive algae grow on certain rocks and produce needle-like formations that point towards the source of light. Near Clearwater Cave there is a wonderful swimming area shaded by giant rainforest trees.

Enjoy a simple picnic or packed lunch, swim or relax before returning to your Resort.  The rest of the afternoon is free at your leisure.

DAY 10: End of Tour

Enjoy breakfast at the resort and after check out you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Miri. MH3631 10:15 - 10:45. Tour ends at Miri airport where you will need to organise your own onward travel.
