DAY 1: Hanoi Arrival

Your holiday to Vietnam begins in the bustling city of Hanoi. You will be picked up at the airport by a tour representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

DAY 2: Hanoi ~ Halong Bay

Early morning pickup at 8:00am to journey through lush Vietnamese countryside to Halong Bay. On arrival we board the traditional junk boat for a memorable cruise among the hundreds of limestone islets of Halong Bay. During the cruise we stop at the 'Magnificent Cave' full of stalagmites and stalactites. Tuck in to a yummy seafood lunch and some water based activities such as swimming or kayaking. Spend the night onboard in your comfortable cabin and enjoy the peacefulness of the Bay.

DAY 3: Halong Bay ~ Hanoi

This morning we continue to sail through the majestic landscape of Halong Bay before heading back to shore and continuing back to Hanoi after a buffet lunch. Have the evening free at your leisure in Hanoi, suggest you visit the Old Town and markets to soak up the exciting culture of the Vietnamese capital city.

DAY 4: Hanoi ~ Hoi An

Spend the morning free at leisure before transferring to the airport for a short flight to Danang. Once in Danang you will be transferred to Hoi An (30 minute drive) and check in to your hotel. The evening in Hoi An is at your own leisure. Check out the amazing shopping and get some tailored clothing, have a delicious meal in one of the many restaurants and wonder along the river lit up with hundreds of lanterns at night.

DAY 5: Hoi An Free Day 

Enjoy a day at leisure in beautiful Hoi An. Wonder the quaint riverside, eplsore the old town or get some clothes tailor made! Alternatively take our optional half day trip to My Son Holy Land [Option Itinerary]: You will be picked up at 8:00am to drive the 40km to this wonderful World Heritage Site. My Son is considered as one of South East Asia's best archaeological sites, in the same league as Bagan in Myanmar and Angkor in Cambodia. My Son was once the religious centre of the Cham people built from 7th to 13th centuries. Step back in time with a fascinating tour around the ruins with a knowledgeable guide. Once the tour is over we stop for a buffet lunch before heading back to Hoi An for the rest of the afternoon and evening free at leisure.

DAY 6: Hoi An ~ Ho Chi Minh City

Free time until your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. You will be transferred to the airport and upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, picked up and transferred to your hotel for the night. Free time in the evening.

DAY 7: Ho Chi Minh City Free Day 

Relax with a full day at your own leisure or take our optional excursion along the tranquil Mekong River. [Option Itinerary]: Pick up from hotel at 8:00am and sit back with a relaxing 2-hour drive to My Tho, passing through lush scenery and green rice paddy fields. Along the way we stop to visit a Cao Dai Temple, which is a unique religion of Vietnam. On arrival into My Tho, we board a boat to cruise along the Mekong. The first stop it Xep Canal where you will feel total escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. We cruise through a small canal lined with tropical coconut trees and stop at a local village to disembark and sample their local produce such as honey tea, honey wine, tropical fruit as well as being treated to a traditional music performance. Here you will have the opportunity to take a traditional horse and cart ride, before enjoying a lunch prepared by a local family. In the afternoon return to Ho Chi Minh City and spend the evening at your leisure.

DAY 8: Ho Chi Minh City Free Day 

Free day to explore this modern city at your own leisure, or take our optional half day excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels. [Option Itinerary]: After breakfast you will be picked up at 8:40am for an excursion to see the impressive underground Cu Chi Tunnel network. The network was constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the struggle for independence and took 25 years to complete. This incredible structure has living rooms, kitchens, hospitals, weapon factories, storage facilities and a command centre and was an excellent way for the Vietcong to move around the countryside undetected by Americans. Around 10,000 people lived in these tunnels for several years. On this trip you will get an opportunity to go into a section of the tunnels and see the mantraps set by the Vietcong.

You will arrive back in Ho Chi Minh City at around 1:00pm to enjoy free time in the afternoon.

DAY 9: Ho Chi Minh City ~ Phnom Penh

A scenic drive today as you head into the Kingdom of Cambodia. You will be picked up at 7:45am by public tourist bus and travel through the countryside, stopping for a border crossing and continuing on to Phnom Penh. The trip takes around 6 hours so prepare yourself with a good book, snacks and a charged up iPod! On arrival into Phnom Penh you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel. DAY 10: Phnom Penh

Enjoy a city tour of Cambodia's capital city today. Pick up at 8:00am and visit lots of interesting landmarks including; Central Market, the Independence Monument, Wat Ounalom and the sacred Silver Pagoda, which is well known for it's 5000 silver tiled floor.  The afternoon takes a slight somber turn as we visit the harrowing 'Killing Fields' and the Tuol Sleng Prison Museum, which will give you a deep insight into the painful rule of the Khmer Rouge.

DAY 11: Phnom Penh ~ Siem Reap

Another day to catch up on your reading as we travel onwards to Siem Reap by public tourist bus. Pick up at 7:30am and journey 5 hours through three provinces; Kandal, Kampung Cham and KomPung Thom. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. A late lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

DAY 12: Siem Reap ~ Angkor Wat Temple Tour

Breakfast at hotel and then pick up at 8:00am for a full day tour of Angkor Wat; meaning "City of Temples". Visit south gate of Angkor Thom with two rows of its huge statues of demons and gods depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, Bayon Temple, a forest of giant heads built in the late 12th century by King Jayarvarman VI as a Buddhist temple. You also visit the Terrace of Elephant and Terrace of Leper King as well as Ta Prohm; the famous temple with trees growing out of the ruins in its jungle surroundings, and the setting for the film Tomb Raider. After lunch we visit the breathtaking Angkor Wat, famous for its beauty and splendor and the largest of all the temples, a World Heritage Site since 1992. If time and energy permits we will also visit some nearby temples. Return back to Siem Reap for the evening free at leisure. Take a stroll down "Pub Street" to eat at the many restaurants and enjoy a relaxing beer.

DAY 13: Siem Reap ~ End of Tour.
