DAY 1: Arrive Kuching
Welcome to Sarawak: Where Adventure Lives! Upon arrival at the airport, meet our tour representative and transfer to your Hotel for check in. Rest or free & easy to explore Kuching City.

DAY 2: Bako National Park Day Trip

One of the best places in Sarawak to see wildlife in a natural setting. Commonly spotted at Bako are the Borneo endemic proboscis monkeys, silvered langurs (monkeys), long-tailed macaques, wild boar, monitor lizards and numerous species of birds. The park has an impressive range of forest types from mangrove to kerangas (heath forest), tropical swamp vegetation, cliff vegetation and beach vegetation. A trail network provides access to different parts of the depending on level of fitness and areas of interest. The park’s spectacular coastline is dotted with small bays, coves and beaches.


Pick up from hotel, 35 minutes drive to Bako village, proceed by boat for approximately 30 minutes to the park headquarters. En route there is a chance to see crocodiles, sea eagles and other shore birds.  Arrive at the park HQ and begin exploring the trails and searching for wildlife.  Return to Kuching mid-afternoon.

DAY 3: Semenggoh Orangutan Centre

Breakfast in the hotel.  Pick up and depart for Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, located 24 kilometres from the centre of Kuching. This orangutan rehabilitation centre trains orphaned or rescued orangutans how to survive in the wild.  Over 20 orangutans live in forest within the nature reserve and often return to the centre at feeding times. Upon arrival, head to the briefing area.  After a brief talk from the rangers, take a short walk along a trail to the feeding area to watch the orangutans come down from the trees for a free meal. Return back to city and have the rest of the day at your own leisure.

DAY 4: Kuching ~ Sarikei ~ Ulu Sarikei

Depart from Kuching by local express boat (fast passenger ferry) to Sarikei.  Sarikei also known as “Food Basket” & “Pineapple Town”, you’ll get to savor local delicacies for lunch at local open air restaurant or coffee shop.  Continue by land to Ulu Sarikei Countryside.  View the hilly scenery on the way with some peppers vineyards, rubber trees, rice paddy even longhouses just by the roadside.


Upon arrival longhouse, a warm welcoming by your host and brief you some longhouse information and culture.  Go for some village walk in the evening, see the friendly local community. Come back in time before sunset. Prepare local meals for dinner such as the Pansuh (chicken meat cooked in bamboo) and taste the Tuak (rice wine) together with your host. After dinner, relaxing and sharing stories & legends with the host in the Ruai (Veranda). Retreat for the night.

DAY 5: Ulu Sarikei ~ Sibu

Wake up early morning and join the villagers to experience local rubber tapping activity.  Feel the tough job of how extract natural rubber latex come from and also process the rubber sheet.


Back to longhouse for breakfast & rest.  Embark on your journey through the still green and undisturbed forest, with sightings of flora and fauna all the way.  Here, you can understand how the local people say “Rainforest is the biggest supermarket for free”.  View up close and personal with some of plants and herbs that the locals normally use for food or medical purpose and even for making ink as the base for Pua Kumbu.  Enjoy some splashing moment and fun at the simple yet naturally beautiful water steam.  Prepare and enjoy lunch in the middle of the rainforest while the sound of nature and gushing waterfall echoes in the background.  Return back to longhouse and get yourself clean up and refresh before journey to Sibu. 


Upon arrival Sibu, check-in Hotel for a rest. Join us on a tour to the mind boggling Sibu Night Market, which is opened every night except when there is heavy rain.  Be amazed by the food, gadgets, textiles, utensils & all things interesting at this amazing place.

DAY 6: Malaysia's Longest RIver Stroll ~ Kota Kinabalu [internal flight not included]

After Breakfast, take a leisurely stroll on a beautiful esplanade alongside Malaysia’s longest river – The Mighty Rajang River.  See how the people use River Taxis (Express Boats, Speed boats, Sampans etc) of all sorts and forms to move along the river.  Watch how the locals stock up their “Floating Grocery Stores” that serve riverine folks.  Walk on to a beautifully crafted Chinese Temple, climb up the Seven Storey Pagoda and take a panoramic view of Sibu’s waterfront life.


Late afternoon transfer to Sibu Airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu.

DAY 7: Kota Kinabalu ~ Free Day

Today spend a whole day in the modern city of Kota Kinabalu. Explore the city at your own leisure, take a taxi boat over to the islands in TAR National Park, stroll along the waterfront, enjoy a cocktail in one of the classy bars and try some local tasty fresh seafood. Alternatively, you can take advantage of one of our optional tours.

DAY 8: Kota Kinabalu ~ Kinabalu National Park

After breakfast we drive 2 hours overland to Kinabalu National Park. En route, we make a short stop at Pekan Nabalu market to sample local fruits in season and to stretch our legs. Then visit the Kundasang War Memorial Park to learn about Sabah's WWII history and for great photos with the majestic Mount Kinabalu. Thereafter, we proceed to the Kinabalu Natural History Gallery and Mountain Garden in Kinabalu Park Headquarters. If weather permits, take a guided walk on one of the trails to explore the cool montane forest. Stay overnight at Kinabalu Hill Lodge at the base of the mountain and enjoy fabulous mountain views from your verandah.

DAY 9: Poring Hot Springs ~ Sepilok

This morning we drive to Poring, east of Kinabalu Park HQ to walk amidst tropical lowland rainforests leading up to the treetop canopy walkways. Enjoy lunch, before visiting the Kipungit Waterfall, stopping for a soak here or in the rejuvenating hot sulphur public pools. Here you can treat your feet to a delightful but very ticklish fish massage at the Moroli River in Luanti which will almost certainly leave you in giggles. Afterwards, overland journey to Sandakan. Stay overnight at in the wild natural surroundings of Sepilok Nature Resort, just 5 minutes walk from the Orangutan sanctuary.

DAY 10: Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre ~ Kinabatangan River

Check out of hotel and visit Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. We proceed to watch a video show about the plight of the Orang Utans and the rehabilitation efforts ongoing at the Centre. Walk ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden boardwalks to witness the feeding of the orang utans at 1000hrs, and then we continue to the newly completed enclosed nursery area for young orang utans. Thereafter visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about conservation of the world’s smallest bear. Afterwards, we depart for a 2 hour drive to the heart of Borneo to stay at the multi award-winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Take a river cruise along the Kinabatangan River in search of exotic wildlife and birds. Enjoy candle light dinner overlooking the riverbank followed by slide presentation and interpretation by naturalist guide.  Note: There will be a complimentary Night Cruise if no sightings of the Proboscis Monkey on the FIRST Afternoon Cruise.

DAY 11: Kinabatangan River

Take an early morning (6am) river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed for an educational tour along the lodge’s Hornbill Boardwalk with our in-house naturalist. After lunch, join our in house Orang Utan Talk activity. In the afternoon, we proceed for another river cruise for more pygmy elephants, orangutans and proboscis monkeys. Spend the evening sharing photographs with new friends and relaxing over a cold beer.

DAY 12: Sandakan ~ Rainforest Discovery Centre

After breakfast, return to Sandakan by overland journey. After lunch we will proceed to visit Rainforest Discovery Centre and take a birds eye view of the centre from the exhilarating canopy walk and hanging bridge. Explore the botanical garden, home to various species of local tropical flora. Proceed to Sandakan Memorial Park for a short visit. Evening at leisure.

DAY 13: Sandakan ~ Free Day

Enjoy free time in Sandakan to explore the town at your own pace. Relax in the tropical grounds of the hotel and take advantage of the beautiful pool area. Alternatively, take one of our optional tours.

DAY 14: End of Tour
