5 Day Cambodia Experience

Cambodia is a wonder of ancient temples and recent history. Why not extend your Vietnam holiday with a 5 day post tour extension starting in the modern city of Phnom Penh and then exploring the marvellous temples in and around Angkor Wat and Siem Reap. 

 

This extension includes 4 nights accommodation, all sightseeing, English speaking guides, entrance fees and a transfer over the border from Vietnam if required. 

DAY 1: Arrival Phnom Penh
Upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, you will be met by our tour representative and transferred to your hotel for check in. The remainder of the day is at your own leisure. NOTE: If you are travelling from Ho Chi Minh City as an add-on to your Vietnam tour, the transfer across the border will be an additional $50 per person.

Day 2: Phnom Penh City Tour 
After breakfast at hotel, visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, and the Silver Pagoda, located within the grounds of the Royal Palace. The Royal Palace of Cambodia is a complex
of buildings although it is generally understood to be the royal abode of the King of Cambodia. Then continue to visit the National Museum. This is one of Phnom Penh's true architectural gems. It house more than 14,000 items; the World’s largest collection of Khmer Art, including sculptures, ceramics, bronzes, and ethnographic objects dating from prehistoric times to periods before, during and after the Khmer Empire.  After lunch we visit to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison). This prison was a high school, and used as a prison by Pol Pot's security forces and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge. Then visit the notorious Killing Fields "Choeung Ek" 15km southwest of Phnom Penh. This one is the site of brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of who first suffered through interrogations, torture and deprivation in Toul Sleng Prison during Pol Pot regime (From 1975–1979).

DAY 3: Phnom Penh ~ Siem Reap 
Our driver will transfer to the bus station. Take an express bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. The journey will take approximately 6 hours so sit back, relax, and enjoy the countryside passing by. If you would like to upgrade to a flight to get there quicker, please contact MyHoliday2.
Arrive Siem Reap check in and free time in the afternoon.

DAY 4: The Magnificent Angkor Wat
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at hotel before a full day sightseeing. First stop is the South Gate of Angkor Thom which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone. Then we see the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Also, visit to Ta Prohm Temple, one of the area’s most beautiful temples. The temple of Ta Prohm was once used as a location in the famous Hollywood film Tomb Raider. In the afternoon, continue to seeing the architectural masterpiece of Angkor Wat. We stroll around this massive monument, exploring the many galleries with columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple.

Day 5: Departure 
After breakfast and check out you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
