Visit Luang Prabang - an entire city listed as a UNESCO World heritage site. Watch the orange clad monks collect their offerings at dawn and explore countless temples. This tour also takes you to Vang Vieng to absorb it's stunning landscapes as well as the bustling capital city of Vientianne.

DAY 1: Vientiane Arrival 

On arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to check in the hotel. The rest of the day is at your own leisure.

DAY 2: Vientiane City Tour

In the morning, we will first visit Wat Si Muang, which is very famous for its supernatural power. We then transfer out to see Buddha Park, an enchanting collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the Mekong Riverside meadow, close to the Friendship Bridge. There are approximately 200 religious images dating back over 500 years, which were created by a mysterious monk spreading his philosophy on life and revealing his ideas about the universe. 

In the afternoon, we see the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to Lao’s national icon, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop enroute to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. A spectacular view over the Mekong River at sunset is a perfect way to finish the day.

DAY 3: Vientiane ~ Vang Vieng

After breakfast, our driver transfers you to the bus station to take the public bus to Vang Vieng. You arrive in Vang Vieng around noon, arrange your own tuk tuk transfer to your hotel in town. Free for the rest of the day.

DAY 4: Vang Vieng ~ Caving & Kayaing Experience

We depart from your hotel in Vang Vieng. After 14 km transfer to the north of Vang Vieng, we visit the first cave, Tham Xang (Elephant Cave) lies on the opposite banks of the Nam Song. It is an important Buddhist temple and owes its name to a remarkable limestone formation.

The nearby Tham Hoi cave (Snail cave) winds its way deep into the mountain. 45min of exploration through numerous long corridors with wonderful limestone formations. Another cool pool of spring water lies at the mouth of Tham Nam (Water cave), also a good place for a swim.

After a picnic lunch, the trek to the Hmong village of Phathao passes through rice paddy fields and vegetable gardens. The trip back to Vang Vieng varies according to the level of the Nam Song. Descending the Nam Song by kayak leads us through idyllic scenes of rural life: a unique sight with the limestone mountains in the background.

Approximately: 25 minutes transfer, 1.5 hour trekking, 2 hours kayaking, 2 hours caving

DAY 5: Vang Vieng ~ Luang Prabang

After breakfast, arrange your own tuk tuk transfer to the bus station to take the public bus to Luang Prabang. The transfer will take about 6-7 hours, and we arrive in Luang Prabang mid or late afternoon depending on the bus that you take. Upon arrival in Luang Prabang, arrange your own tuk tuk to the hotel in town.  Free for the rest of the day.

DAY 6: Luang Prabang ~ Kuang Si Waterfall 

After breakfast, we visit Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts.  Our next stop in the city is the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. We will also take a look at the Traditional Art & Ethnology Center to learn about the many Lao ethnic groups. We then visit Wat Visoun, dating back to 1513 during the reign of King Wisunarat (Visoun), this is Luang Prabang’s oldest temple and was once home to the Prabang Buddhas.
Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, we will take a short visit to the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, where you will have a short tour so you get information about Silk, about weaver, about the women that work in the centre. This then takes us to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails. You can also see up close Asiatic bears at the Bear Rescue Centre 

along the jungle walk to the waterfall. Arriving in Luang Prabang, we ascend the 329 steps to the top of Phousi Hill for a beautiful sunset view of the city and its glowing reflection on the Mekong River.

DAY 7: End of Tour

Your holiday to Laos ends today. After breakfast and check out you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
