We Give Back: Hanoi Orphanage Donation

Here at MyHoliday2 we do our best to ensure our tours are responsibly run. We do this by using small group sizes, minimising impact on natural environments and working with local family run operators. We also have a ‘Give Back’ initiative which we are really proud of.

Our ‘Give Back’ initiative is where we donate a couple of $ for every package we sell, which gets distributed around our chosen charities. These are all local charities that our directors have personally visited, so we know our donations go direct to the source and do not get swept up in admin fees of larger charity organisations.

This week we organised the delivery of boxes of milk, baby formula, milo and crackers to a Buddhist Monastery in Hanoi that also acts as an orphanage. Originally, Bo De Pagoda in Hanoi was a Buddhist temple. Over time, this place of worship changed and has also become a home for children and orphans who do not have anywhere to go. Quite often babies and small children were left at the gate of the monastery, which lead to the head monk setting up an orphanage. They have nannies living and working there to raise the children and they operate their very own childcare centre. This all overseen by the head Monk of the Monastery.

While on tour in Vietnam, we can organise a visit to this orphanage.
